Starting around the 2020s, young women started returning to women's land. I challenged myself to come up with 101 reasons why this phenomenon is happening. Here goes:
- The lesbians are on the land
- Many women's lands have wi-fi now
- Living on women's land is less expensive than renting in this economy
- Connect with nature
- Remote work is more available, making living on women's land more possible
- Prefer to live in community than living alone
- Deep need for mentorship from older/other women
- Looking for lesbian community
- Interested in centering women in their life
- Learning trade skills from women who want to teach them
- Learning self-sufficiency skills, like using power tools or growing food
- NO MEN!!!
- Just really want some peace and quiet, dammit
- Escape the hustle and bustle of city life
- Live more intentionally
- Challenge what it means to be a young woman in today's world
- Have a coming-of-age experience
- Learn about sustainable living
- Reduce your carbon footprint
- Create a fulfilling life outside of traditional society
- Heal from past trauma
- Find a supportive, nurturing community
- Grow and thrive on your own terms
- Connect with other women who have shared experiences
- Get away from social media
- Get a built-in social network
- Live a more intentional life
- Cultivate a connection to the earth
- Make friends with women who share some of your values
- Get through a breakup, women's land has many shoulders to cry on
- Live a simpler, more minimalist lifestyle
- Find a sense of community
- Feel like you belong
- Learn practical skills from women in areas like woodworking, organic farming, and sustainable living
- Challenge gender norms, do things that women aren't "supposed to do"
- Experience a sense of sisterhood
- Live as a lesbian separatist, if you so choose
- Settle into a community that centers around women's experiences

Expect to undergo a vetting process that can be as quick as a phone call or as extensive as an in-person meetup.
